📚Ready to read more without pressure?
コミュニティReading Challenge
Do you know the Japanese word tadoku(多読)?
“Ta” means a lot, and “doku” means to read. Together, it simply means: to read a lot.
But tadoku is more than just reading in volume, it’s a language learning approach. Instead of memorising long vocabulary lists or grammar points in isolation, you naturally absorb them through meaningful, repeated encounters in stories and texts.
When you engage with stories in Japanese, new words and phrases come alive in context. This is the true power of tadoku.
Why this Challenge?
We all have the best intentions: I should read more Japanese. But without structure, it’s easy for that plan to fade away.
That’s why I created the Reading Challenge. It gives us a shared commitment and a little push. With weekly check-ins and mini tasks, you get the accountability and encouragement to keep going.
And the best part? You’re not doing it alone.
The Power of Community
Language learning can sometimes feel like a lonely journey. But when we come together as a community, reading becomes something bigger than ourselves.
You can exchange book recommendations, share your favourite characters, and celebrate small wins side by side. That collective energy transforms reading from “just another study task” into a joyful, meaningful habit.
Making Reading a Meaningful Habit
This challenge isn’t about speed or competition. There’s no prize for finishing the fastest.
The goal is simple: show up consistently. Even if you read just a page or two a day, those small steps build momentum. Over time, reading becomes part of your daily or weekly rhythm and that habit will stay with you long after the challenge ends.
